Description: I acquired this piece without having a clear idea of what to do with it. After some thought on how to push away from the obvious, I decided to flip the salvaged steel table base upside down. I added a laminated wood base with recycled redwood and used the same wood to inlay the top. This is another joint Style De View effort.

Description: This is another joint Style De Vie project. This walker-like medical cabinet can now be used for storage and display in a number of ways. With stripped paint to the bare steel, a reclaimed redwood top and base, with cleaned and reused original casters, this piece has undergone both a formal and functional transformation.

Description: I found these 4 separate cash register drawers at a salvage yard. I added walnut ply tops and created custom drawer inserts for the money flaps to attach to. Now they can be used versatilely for document storage.

First Pieces on Display

Check out my first two pieces on display at H.D. Buttercup (at the Helms Bakery). These two projects are a joint effort by Style De Vie (styledevie.com) and Transform Studio.

Description: The concept for the coffee table was to make each level of the vintage metal frame usable in a less typical way. The box is made of laminated plywood with only the endgrain exposed.

The floor light was repurposed from a vintage hair curler. Light illuminates

the surface under it as well as the ceiling.

Description: This wood was from an old painted bench. After some sanding and milling I laminated the pieces together. The legs are made of plumbing pipe.

Void Table

Description: This project questions traditional methods of storage. Intersecting voids are created by carving out from a solid. From the user's perspective the mass (table) floats above the ground, challenging gravity.

Old Frame, New Surface

Description: This steel stool frame was also found at a salvage yard. I had it sandblasted and clear powder coated to expose the natural steel (it was black before). I surfaced it with recycled wood from a demolition. The only new material in this piece is hardware.
